About the position

DESCRIPTION/SYNOPSIS:
A well-established SAIPA-accredited accounting firm based in Moreleta Park, Pretoria is seeking a dynamic and driven Accountant to join their small and highly professional team. This opportunity is ideal for someone looking to register and complete their SAIPA articles, or for a newly qualified SAIPA Accountant who is eager to grow into a more senior role. With close mentorship directly from the Partner, this position offers excellent hands-on exposure across all accounting and tax functions in a supportive environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• BCom Degree in Accounting or similar
• Either working toward or completed SAIPA qualification
• Strong MS Excel skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Must have own transport

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with month-end procedures, including journals and reconciliations
• Handle payroll processing, ensuring timely submissions and accuracy
• Prepare financial reports such as income statements and balance sheets
• Submit VAT returns and maintain compliance with tax regulations
• Manage petty cash and maintain accurate expense records
• Maintain fixed asset registers and process depreciation
• Accurately process supplier and customer invoices and payments
• Ensure confidentiality and compliance with data protection legislation
• Maintain and update databases for financial and tax information
• Provide clear, practical accounting and tax guidance to clients
• Review tax submissions and records for accuracy and compliance
