About the position
A well-established company in the East Rand is seeking a SAICA Article Clerk who is already enrolled in a SAICA training contract or is eligible to continue their articles.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Currently enrolled in or completed a SAICA-accredited BCom Accounting, BCompt, CTA, PGDA or equivalent qualification
- Already enrolled in or eligible to continue a SAICA training contract
- Strong academic record
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the MS Office Suite
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
- High attention to detail with a willingness to learn
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with external and internal audit assignments
- Prepare audit working papers and supporting documentation
- Draft annual financial statements
- Perform bookkeeping and reconciliations
- Assist with VAT, PAYE, income tax and other tax compliance
- Prepare management accounts
- Liaise with clients to obtain financial information and resolve queries
- Maintain accurate records and ensure SAICA competency requirements are met
- Work as part of an audit team and meet deadlines
Advantageous
- Knowledge of IFRS and auditing principles
- Experience with Xero, Sage, Pastel or similar accounting software
- Experience with CaseWare
- Previous accounting or audit experience, although not essential
