About the position
We are seeking an experienced Sage X3 specialist to serve as a Business Systems Lead, responsible for the configuration, rollout, and ongoing improvement of Sage X3 and integrated business systems.
This role requires strong functional and technical expertise, a deep understanding of business processes, and the ability to manage complex Sage X3 projects from end to end. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Business Systems Lead will act as the Sage X3 subject matter expert, ensuring that the ERP system effectively supports our business operations and growth.
Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in Sage X3 with hands-on experience leading full-cycle implementations from initial scoping and solution design through successful go-live and ongoing post-implementation optimization.
- Deep functional understanding of Sage X3 modules and how they interconnect across business processes.
- Strong grasp of finance, supply chain, logistics, and production/manufacturing workflows, with proven ability to translate business requirements into robust system configurations.
- Demonstrated experience in Sage X3 configuration, process setup, and light customization - including workflow design, report creation, user roles, and basic scripting or development using Sage X3 tools.
- Working knowledge of Sage X3 architecture, data structures, and environments. Proficiency with SQL databases and familiarity with reporting tools such as Sage Enterprise Intelligence (SEI) and Crystal Reports for example.
- Experience planning and executing data migrations from legacy systems, developing testing strategies and coordinating user acceptance and sign-off.
- Ability to design and maintain operational and management reports that support data-driven decisions. Comfort with BI/reporting tools and understanding of how data flows between modules and systems.
- Practical experience working with APIs, web services, or middleware integrations between Sage X3 and third-party systems (e.g., WMS, POS, e-commerce, payroll etc.).
- Excellent analytical and diagnostic skills. Able to troubleshoot complex issues across both functional and technical areas.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience leading workshops, delivering end-user training, and creating documentation/SOPs for diverse teams.
- Proven ability to lead or mentor cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders, and drive adoption of new systems and processes.
- Proven ability to manage priorities, deliver under pressure, and operate within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in an ERP consultancy or Sage partner environment is highly valued.
- Formal Sage X3 certifications is beneficial.
- Experience in retail and/or manufacturing environments is beneficial.
