About the position
We are seeking a qualified and proactive Safety Officer (CHSO) to join our team in the Western Cape.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring workplace health and safety compliance across all operations, implementing safety protocols, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety legislation and company policies.
- • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- • Investigate incidents and accidents, and implement corrective measures.
- • Develop, implement, and monitor safety procedures and programs.
- • Facilitate safety training sessions and awareness campaigns for staff.
- • Maintain accurate safety records and reports.
- • Advise management on health and safety improvements and compliance requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- • SACPCMP CHSO Registration is mandatory.
- • Diploma/Degree or higher qualification in Construction OHS, Safety Management, Occupational Health and Safety, or a closely related field.
- • Proven experience in a safety officer role within construction, industrial, or operational environments.
- • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and best practices.
- • Excellent communication, report writing, and analytical skills.
- • Ability to work independently and manage multiple safety initiatives simultaneously.
