About the position

Hire Resolve's client, a reputable financial institution committed to excellence and innovation in banking, is seeking an experienced and strategic Risk Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a driven professional to play a key role in overseeing and enhancing the bank's risk management framework to ensure resilience, compliance, and sustainable growth. Position is based in Durban


Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the bank’s risk management policies and procedures in line with regulatory standards and internal risk appetite.
  
  
• Identify, assess, monitor, and report on all risk exposures including credit, market, operational, liquidity, and reputational risks.
  
  
• Ensure compliance with local and international banking regulations.
  
  
• Coordinate risk assessments and stress testing exercises across business units.
  
  
• Lead the development of risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
  
  
• Present risk analysis and recommendations to senior management and the Board Risk Committee.
  
  
• Promote a strong risk culture across the bank through training and awareness initiatives.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, or related field.
  
  
• Professional certification (e.g., FRM, PRM, CFA) preferred.
  
  
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in risk management within the banking or financial services sector.
  
  
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements and risk frameworks (e.g., Basel III, IFRS 9).
  
  
• Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
