About the position

Postion Summary:
The National Research Foundation (NRF) seeks to make an appointment for the position of Risk Management Administrator within SHE and Risk Division. Reporting to the SHER Manager, the incumbent will provide direct support to Enterprise Risk Management processes and the chosen Risk and Compliance software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support to the stakeholders of Enterprise Risk management and facilitation of processes
  • Providing user community support during the quarterly risk assessments and assistance to review all aspects of risk incl
  • risk identification, risk evaluation, risk rating, control effectiveness, task progress, mitigation control, etc
  • Tracking and communicating the status of the implementation of mitigation plans
  • Assisting with articulation of appropriate control measures to address matters raised in audit findings
  • Analysing risk and incident databases when needed and produce analysis reports (by risk category, risk type, etc)
  • Participate and arrange risk meetings and workshops including maintaining the back-up repository for reports, minutes, Key Risk Indicators and Health and safety statistics
  • Incident management, SHEQ management and Organisational Resilience support and training
  • Ensure access for Risk representatives (Risk Champions) from all NRF facilities are managed and follow up changes or reconfigure
  • Assist with risk management system analyses and ensure continuous improvement incl
  • updates and or implementation of Innovative solutions
  • Register and coordinate motor and non-motor insurance claims
  • Assist in annual renewal process, collation of documentation, premium allocation and invoice payments
  • Manage Insurance claim reporting and follow up on Insurance survey’s requirements and risk mitigation progress

Minimum Qualification:
  • Diploma / Advanced Certificate / NQF 6

Minimum Experience:
  • 3-5 years
  • NQF Level 6 Diploma in Risk or a related field of study
  • Relevant short courses in risk management and/or Organisational Resilience will be advantageousSAMTRAC Certificate or equivalent occupational OHS training, will be advantageous
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant work experience with:o Computer literacy, MS Office (excel intermediate to advanced)o Good working knowledge of risk management tools (Exclaim, Cura, BarnOwl or similar is acceptable)
  • o A good understanding of risk management concepts, principles, and processes
  • o Good analytical skills to analyse and determine the root causes to risk problems
  • o Proven track record in developing SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) and associated documents
  • o Practical experience operating within a risk management environment
  • Minimum of 1 year administration experience in claims and policy administration will be an added advantage

Experience:
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral & written in English language) Solid problem-solving skillsGood interpersonal and team working skillsAbility to work independently, foster collaboration in a team, and meet multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively on cross functional initiatives
  • Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people while undertaking professional duties

Knowledge:
  • Core or strong practical knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management principles
  • Knowledge of COSO and King IV
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and the regulations
  • Exposure to and understanding of ISO [Phone Number Removed]; and ISO 9001
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, compliance standards and regulations
  • Knowledge and understanding of Business Continuity Management
  • Involvement with monitoring programmes and carrying out reviews and testing adherence to laid down procedures and plans
