About the position

We are looking for an Internal Auditor / Risk & Compliance Fundi, with a background in Insurance OR Road Accident Fund, to join our  Risk Management Department for our dynamic client located in Centurion.  
They are continuing to grow and streamline their operations, and the addition of hiring a proficient Risk & Compliance Supervisor is essential for maintaining the high standards of service and efficiency that their department is known for.
This role is pivotal in managing the assessment and processing of claims, ensuring legal compliance, and upholding their commitment to clients and stakeholders.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Performance Areas:

  • Perform and ensure execution of the following functions and duties (reporting to the Support Manager).
  • Performs and maintains the risk analysis pertaining to the practitioners, focusing on loss prevention.
  • Produce risk articles for publication to practitioners and the public.
  • Assess the processes and procedures used by the firms and confirm that they are in accordance with the Legal Practice Act.
  • Performs inspections in accordance with the adopted investigation methodology and principles.
  • Implement the Practitioner Risk Management Framework and contribute to the development of risk profiles of practitioners
  • Align inspection processes and scheduling with risks and claims.
  • Provides support to maintain and update the Practitioner Risk Management Framework risk matrix.
  • Supports the risk assessment process of the Legal Practitioners Fidelity Fund on an ongoing basis.
  • Conducts ad hoc investigations and cashflow analysis statements as requested by business (physical and financial.
  • Maintains audit programs and processes in line with required standards.
  • Builds management information on inspections including historical undertaken by other stakeholders.
  • Compile inspections requests and the necessary reports for approval by the Board.
  • Performs inspections in accordance with the adopted investigation methodology and principles to support the certification processes on Practitioner trust accounts.


Technical &  Behavioral Competencies: 

  • Must have a valid motor vehicle driver’s license.
  • Functional skills – Broad working knowledge of various areas of accounting:
  • Working experience with and understand accounting and audit packages.
  • RAF claims practice, specifically the procedures and the time limits stipulated in the statutes, rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of proper procedures and works within established guidelines and frameworks.
  • Self-management skills – Ability to plan work and manage time effectively.
  • Interpersonal skills – Good communication skills and ability to interact at all levels.
  • Analytical thinking – Ability to systematically compare and evaluate alternatives and use logical and rational reasoning.
  • Requirements of the corporate culture – Focus on compliance, risk management and respect for the rule of law and the bills of rights.
  • Must have good working and practical auditing knowledge and skills.

Educational qualifications/ Work experience:

  • Grade 12/ Matric.
  • Accounting / Internal Audit / Audit / Law degree.
  • Must at least have experience in working with high volume figures and information.
  • Must at least have worked in a similar environment for a period of at least five (3-5) years.
