About the position

This position will require someone who will specialize in the setup, maintenance, and operation of rigging equipment used to lift, move, and position heavy objects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Planning and Preparation:

To assess the weight and size of loads, select appropriate rigging equipment, and plan the lifting and moving process.

• Equipment Setup and Operation:

To assemble, install, and operate various rigging equipment, including ropes, chains, cables, pulleys, winches, and cranes.

• Load Handling:

To attach loads using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, and cables, ensuring proper balance and secure attachment.

• Communication and Signaling:

To communicate with crane operators and other team members using hand signals and/or radio communication to guide the movement of loads.

• Safety Compliance:

Must strictly adhere to safety procedures and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.

• Equipment Maintenance:

To inspect, maintain, and repair rigging equipment to ensure its proper functioning and safety.

• Scaffolding and Temporary Structures:

Must be able to erect, dismantle, and maintain scaffolding and other temporary structures

About The Employer:

Our client based in Lutzville and Saldanha Bay is looking to acquire the experience Riggers which will be based in one of their Sites. Succesful candidates should possesses the following skills and experience:

Minimum Requirements




- 3+ years working as a Rigger.
- In-depth knowledge of rigging equipment and heavy machinery.
- Excellent hearing and vision.
- Ability to work at heights and in noisy environments.
- High-level mathematical skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions
