About the position

The Revenue Assurance Manager is responsible for protecting and maximising company revenue by ensuring that all billable services, products, and contracts are accurately invoiced, recorded, and collected.

The role focuses on identifying and eliminating revenue leakage, enforcing contractual pricing (including annual escalations), and ensuring full alignment between contracts, service delivery, billing systems, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Assurance & Billing Accuracy

  • Ensure all services and products are invoiced accurately in line with contractual terms and pricing agreements.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve revenue leakage, under-billing, over-billing, and unbilled revenue.
  • Perform regular reconciliations between operational data, billing systems, and the general ledger.
  • Review and approve billing adjustments, credits, discounts, and pricing changes within governance frameworks.
  • Monitor billing cycles to ensure accurate and timeous invoicing.

Annual Increases & Pricing Governance

  • Manage and enforce annual contractual price increases (CPI, fixed %, anniversary-based escalations).
  • Maintain a detailed schedule of contract escalation dates and ensure no increases are missed.
  • Ensure all price increases are correctly implemented in billing systems and reflected accurately on invoices.
  • Validate escalation calculations and perform post-implementation audits.
  • Identify historical missed escalations and quantify revenue recovery opportunities.
  • Support communication with customers regarding pricing adjustments and escalations.

Contract & Commercial Assurance

  • Review and interpret customer contracts to ensure correct billing application.
  • Ensure contract renewals, amendments, and variations are accurately reflected in billing systems.
  • Support resolution of billing disputes, reconciliations, and contract-related revenue risks.

Controls, Processes & Risk Management

  • Design and implement revenue assurance controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis on billing and pricing errors and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Sales, Operations, and Technical teams to ensure billing accuracy.
  • Support internal and external audits related to revenue and pricing compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in revenue integrity processes.

Reporting & Stakeholder Management

  • Prepare and present revenue assurance and pricing compliance reports to executive management.
  • Highlight revenue leakage risks, missed escalations, and recovery opportunities.
  • Act as escalation point for complex billing, pricing, and revenue-related issues.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related field (preferred)
  • 8+ years' experience in revenue assurance, billing, pricing, or commercial finance
  • Proven experience managing contractual price escalations and billing accuracy
  • Strong experience with reconciliations, ERP systems, and billing platforms
