About the position
Reporting to the Financial Manager, te successful canddiate will play a key role in enabling sound financial and commercial decision-making across the company through accurate revenue reporting and analysis, debtor, bank and cash flow management and reporting on the monetary impact of how customer products are utilised, rewards and customer compensation.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that revenue is accurately accounted for and reported, providing EXCO with clear and accurate disclosure of various revenue channels for decision-making purposes
- Reconciling all payment types and payment channels to ensure that all amounts have been collected to minimise bad debt write-offs
- Verifying and submitting weekly and monthly debtor reports
- Building and maintaining relationships with debtors to ensure timeous and accurate payment of trade receivables and maximizing cash flow performance
- Revenue forecasting and input to Cash Flow Management
- Processing and verifying monthly wallet expiries and automation refinement
- Financial processing of monthly provisions and write offs related to wallet expiries
- Monitoring and tracking trade exchanges granted to ensure alignment with the budget
- Compiling Debtors Ageing and Wallet Ageing Reports
- Reconciling unflown ticket liability to ensure accurate reporting on debtors, bank funds and trade receivables
- Liaising with bank and treasury on funds availability for bi-weekly payments
- Liaising with the data team to ensure automation and accuracy of data for reporting purposes
- Verifying and processing EFT and BSP refunds.
- Financial processing of revenue related transactions as well as associated agent and revenue costs
- Refining and automating reports to maximise accuracy and efficiency
- Dealing with audit queries
- Ad hoc responsibilities and projects to ensure the effective and smooth operation of the department
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (Essential)
- Proven track record in accounting, preferably in revenue recognition or financial reporting (Essential)
- Familiarity with the aviation industry, especially regarding revenue recognition practices (Advantageous)
- Comprehensive knowledge of revenue accounting principles and standards, such as International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Proficiency in financial reporting and the ability to prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including revenue-related disclosures
- Strong understanding of complex accounting issues related to revenue recognition, such as multiple-element arrangements, software revenue recognition, or long-term contracts
- Experience with revenue accounting systems and software such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC), as well as proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate revenue accounting and adherence to relevant standards and policies
- Ability to analyse and interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide insights on revenue-related performance and risks
