Retail Assistant

About the position

Our client based on the East Rand is seeking a friendly, customer-focused Retail Assistant to join their team.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Prior retail sales or shop assistant experience advantageous 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Computer literate and comfortable working with a POS system
• Strong customer service orientation
• Well-presented, reliable and professional
• Able to work retail hours, including Saturdays when required
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail
• Own reliable transport will be advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist customers with product enquiries and purchases
• Deliver exceptional customer service at all times
• Process sales transactions accurately
• Replenish shelves and merchandise stock
• Ensure the shop is clean, organised and well-presented
• Receive, unpack and price incoming stock
• Conduct stock counts and assist with inventory control
• Assist with opening and closing procedures
• Handle customer queries and resolve issues professionally
• Work towards achieving store sales targets and maintaining high merchandising standards
