Job Summary
The Restaurant Technology Manager (Equity) is responsible for leading the implementation, maintenance, and continuous optimization of technology systems across Equity restaurants. This role ensures the reliable, secure, and efficient operation of all restaurant technology platforms, enabling seamless customer experiences and improved operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Technology Operations and Support
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and ongoing support of restaurant technology solutions, including and not limited to POS systems, self-service kiosks, Drive Through Systems, and digital menu boards
- Monitor and analyze support queries from service vendors to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities to improve system uptime and performance.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for the stores, operations managers, and coordinate with service vendors to ensure timely and effective issue resolution.
System Administration and Maintenance
- Manage the setup, configuration, and deployment of new technology systems across restaurants.
- Oversee the rollout of software updates, security patches, and system backups in collaboration with service partners to ensure consistency and compliance.
Project Management
- Participate in cross-functional planning sessions for new store builds and restaurant remodels.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute technology deployments for new stores and remodel projects in partnership with key stakeholders and service providers.
- Track project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure on-time and successful execution.
Network and Infrastructure Management
- Coordinate penetration testing and ensure adherence to security standards and protocols.
- Monitor and maintain restaurant network infrastructure to ensure stability, security, and optimal performance.
- Drive the implementation of reliable connectivity solutions, including redundancy measures across the Equity portfolio.
- Oversee the installation and upgrade of in-store hardware in alignment with security and operational requirements.
Vendor and Partner Management
- Participate in SLA review meetings with vendors, ensuring service delivery meets agreed standards.
- Manage vendor escalations and drive accountability for issue resolution.
- Collaborate with service providers to identify and implement continuous service improvements.
Qualifications
- Matric and a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology / Computer Science
- A Diploma or Certificate in IT or Hospitality may be accepted with strong experience.
- 5+ years in IT support, systems management, or network administration
- Hospitality/restaurant operations (ideally both)
- Experience with restaurant tech systems, such as:
- POS systems
- Inventory management software
- Online ordering / delivery platforms
- Payment systems and integrations
