Resident Engineer - Roads

About the position

Qualifications, Skills And Experience

• A minimum B.Sc, B Tech (or equivalent) in Civil is required.
• PR. Eng will be advantageous
• At least 08 years' experience in road and construction projects.
• Assistant Resident Engineer should have extensive experience in the use and interpretation of major conditions of contract and in managing contractual issues.
• (Experience with General Conditions of Contract 2015 will be advantageous.)
• He/she must be fluent in spoken and written English.

Key Responsibilities

• The RE will be responsible for the following elements of the construction works under his/her responsibility, but is not limited to the following:
• As the RE you will assist with contract administration for this project.
• Reviewing the construction drawings and managing the processes of dealing with Contractor queries by liaising with the designers through the required communication lines.
• Inspection of the works and test results for quality control.
• Preparing and updating estimates to completion.
• Maintaining records of site administration and communication in terms SMEC's quality management system and Construction Manual.
• Attending and contributing to taking minutes at technical and site meetings.
• Maintaining monthly progress reports.
• Liaison with clients and contractors and Managing resources for site supervision.
• Monitoring of quality of works and Monitoring of programme and contract budgets.
• Handling claims and Preparation of variation orders.
• Participate in stakeholder engagement
• Closing out projects including compiling completion/closeout reports; and
• Monitoring of Environmental Management Programs for the
