Resident Engineer

About the position

Our client is looking for an experienced Resident Engineer to oversee the successful construction of a major water infrastructure project in KwaZulu-Natal. This role is suited to a senior engineering professional with extensive experience in construction supervision, contract administration and the delivery of large-scale multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead all on-site engineering and construction supervision activities.
• Represent the Engineer throughout project execution.
• Manage contract administration in accordance with GCC 2010 and GCC 2015.
• Review construction progress, quality standards and health and safety compliance.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and project stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and resolve engineering challenges during construction.
• Prepare project reports and monitor programme performance.
• Ensure successful delivery of complex bulk water infrastructure projects.

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric/Grade 12.
• BSc Eng, BEng or equivalent qualification.
• Registered with ECSA and SACPCMP (or similar) with a minimum of 15 years' Resident Engineer experience.
• Alternatively, 30 years' relevant Resident Engineer experience.
• Proven delivery of at least three multidisciplinary engineering projects valued above R500 million.
• Extensive experience in Water Treatment Works, dams and hydraulic infrastructure.
• Strong contract administration and construction management expertise.
• Excellent organisational, leadership and stakeholder engagement abilities.
