Location: Linbro Business Park, Head Office
- Streamline and automate payroll processing to maximise efficiency.
- Monitor and audit payroll system integrity, rules, calculations and statutory compliance.
- Conduct payroll reviews to ensure accurate inputs and payments.
- Implement remuneration policy, philosophy and best practices.
- Lead and manage the remuneration department and its team.
- Prepare end-of-month, end-of-year and end-of-tax-year payroll reports, financial statements, provisions and reconciliations.
- Develop, implement, mentor and train on payroll policies, procedures and internal workflows.
- Prepare and monitor the departmental budget.
- Manage payroll and time & attendance systems and all interfaces.
- Ensure record-keeping and data processing procedures comply with legal requirements.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Meet all deadlines in accordance with the annual plan and legal prescriptions.
- Ensure full legal compliance of all payroll functions.
- Participate in strategy setting and specific payroll projects.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation solutions.
- Tertiary qualification or relevant payroll qualification.
- Minimum 10?years payroll management experience, including:
3?years in a managerial payroll role.
3?years in payroll system implementation or interface roles.
- Subject-matter expert in payroll, payroll systems, payroll taxes and complex processing.
- Proven track record of payroll implementation and interfaces to other applications.
- Payroll programming skills are a strong advantage.
- Experience with monthly and weekly payrolls for 1?000+ employees with multiple employment conditions.
- Solid financial and accounting acumen; ability to perform complex reconciliations and journal entries.
- Hands-on experience with Payroll and Time & Attendance systems (Unique/Payspace).
- In-depth knowledge of labour laws: LRA, BCEA, COIDA, OSHA, POPI, Income Tax Act, Wage Determination Act, Bargaining Council Agreements and payroll best practices.
- Valid Code?08 (EB) driver's licence.
- Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Excellent written, verbal and organisational communication.
- Strong report writing and presentation skills.
- Good accounting, analytical and conceptual skills.
- Systematic, methodical thinking.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

- Sound knowledge of payroll and T&A systems, payroll accounting processes, reconciliations and individual income tax calculations.
- Good understanding of the inter-relatedness of HR systems.
