We're expanding our team and looking for a Remote Data Center Technician to join our Network Operations Center (NOC). Job Summary: As a Remote Data Center Technician at NetOps Africa, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the uptime and functionality of our data centers. Working as part of our NOC, you will monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide critical support during after-hours operations. This role also involves taking client support calls and ensuring that their needs are met promptly and professionally. A strong background in Linux, networking, and remote system management is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and maintain the health of data center operations during after-hours shifts.
• Remotely troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Respond to and manage client support calls, providing technical assistance and resolving issues.
• Conduct regular remote system checks and maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and security.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to address any escalated issues or project tasks.
• Document system configurations, updates, and support activities, maintaining accurate records.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data center and remote management.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in data center operations, NOC roles, or similar remote technical support positions.
• Proficient with Linux operating systems and comfortable using command-line interfaces remotely.
• Strong understanding of networking principles and experience with remote network troubleshooting.
• Experience with remote monitoring tools and maintaining infrastructure uptime.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle client interactions professionally and efficiently.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently during after-hours shifts.
• Certification in Linux, networking (e.g., CCNA), or other relevant fields is a plus.
• Reliable internet connection and a suitable home office setup for remote work.
