About the position
Release Train Engineer (RTE):
The Release Train Engineer (RTE) will lead the implementation and maturity of a Flow-Based Delivery model within InfoSec. This role focuses on improving delivery speed, prioritization practices, and resource utilization across business-as-usual (BaU) and project work. The RTE will drive collaboration, establish delivery governance practices, and manage agile delivery using SAFe and JIRA tools to ensure the InfoSec team consistently meets its strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as Release Train Engineer for the InfoSec team, overseeing end-to-end agile delivery cycles (PI planning, execution, and reporting).
- Champion and embed Flow-Based Delivery principles across the InfoSec function.
- Facilitate the creation and ongoing improvement of JIRA issue models, templates, and structures.
- Work with stakeholders to define, prioritize, and manage the delivery funnel, ensuring alignment to business value.
- Lead and support Portfolio Backlog management, capacity planning, and pre-PI planning activities.
- Conduct regular service catalogue and OLA reviews to refine the InfoSec value proposition.
- Generate and analyze flow metrics to highlight delivery constraints, waste, and improvement opportunities.
- Coordinate and facilitate PI Planning, daily stand-ups, Kanban reviews, retrospectives, and PIE (Post Implementation Evaluation).
- Educate and mentor teams in SAFe practices, Agile methodologies, and Flow-Based Delivery concepts.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration between InfoSec, IT, and business stakeholders.
- Support operational excellence initiatives and assist in Six Sigma-aligned continuous improvement projects (if applicable).
Required Skills & Experience:
- 7+ years proven experience in IT Project Management and agile delivery environments.
- Diploma or Degree in IT or related is beneficial.
- Experience in or understanding of Information Security principles, risk management, compliance, and security operations.
- Certified SAFe Release Train Engineer or Scrum Master (SAFe/Agile) certification is mandatory.
- Demonstrated expertise in Agile frameworks, Program Increment (PI) planning, and delivery governance.
- Experience working with JIRA in large-scale environments, including custom issue configuration and reporting.
- Exposure to Six Sigma methodologies or continuous improvement (bonus).
- Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to drive informed delivery decisions.
- Adaptable, self-driven, and capable of managing ambiguity in a complex, fast-paced environment.
