About the position

Postion Summary:
iThemba LABS seeks to a appoint a Release Pharmacist.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision and release of production batches in line with production conditions, results of in-process testing, review of manufacturing, packaging and laboratory documentation and compliance with finished product specificationCo-ordinates planning and organizing the manufacturing processMonitoring and auditing compliance to both regulatory requirements and in-house standards regarding safety, current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) and Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP)Fulfills monthly and weekly production plans according to the scheduleDocumentation control in production processApproval and release of manufactured productsProvides on the job training for chemical technologistEnsure that training needs and competence are kept up to date in the relevant GMP topics, especially sterile manufacture

Minimum Qualification:

• Bachelors Degree / Advanced Diploma / NQF 7

Minimum Experience:

• 3-5 years

• Bachelor degree in Pharmacy (B Pharm)Registered Pharmacist with South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)

Experience:

• 3-5 years experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing environmentExperience in sterile pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred

Knowledge:

• General process evaluation, of observed deficiencies to the correct persons and follow-up on corrective action, liaising with production where necessary
• Knowledge of radiopharmaceutical and sterile manufacturing processes
