As a Relationship Manager, you'll be at the forefront of driving growth, building strong client relationships, and shaping the future of South African agriculture. This is your opportunity to work closely with farmers, internal experts, and stakeholders to structure impactful financial solutions that ensure both client success and portfolio profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Drive Agricultural Development & Transformation

  • Represent the institution at farmer engagements, unions, and community events.
  • Educate clients about financial and insurance products, identifying growth opportunities.
  • Assess client applications for viability and collaborate with internal teams to structure solutions that [URL Removed] the Portfolio & Ensure Financial Performance
  • Drive the expansion of the loan book while maintaining portfolio health.
  • Price loans accurately to safeguard margins and profitability.
  • Support insurance initiatives to generate non-interest revenue.
  • Onboard a minimum of six new clients with disbursed loans [URL Removed] & Strengthen Client Relationships
  • Conduct regular client visits and calls to maintain strong, personalized relationships.
  • Resolve escalated client issues promptly and effectively.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities and reinforce long-term client [URL Removed] Across Teams
  • Work closely with Credit, Legal, Agriculture Specialists, and Client Analysts to structure complex transactions.
  • Support risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with governance [URL Removed] & Improve
  • Mentor and support Client Analysts.
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and share best practices with peers.

Minimum requirements

Education & Experience

  • Relevant degree in Commerce, Business, Banking, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years managing client relationships in a financial or customer-facing environment.
  • 1-2 years assessing business cases for agricultural operations, including financial analysis.
  • 3 years' knowledge of credit principles, practices, and legislation.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical, financial, and business acumen.
  • Customer service and client-centric mindset.
  • Knowledge of the agricultural industry and market dynamics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to structure corporate/commercial transactions and assess credit risk.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid South African driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work extended hours when nee
