Overview
Charisma Healthcare Solutions is seeking experienced and dedicated Registered Nurses (ICU) to support a private hospital in Rustenburg on a temporary, shift-based basis. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who enjoy flexibility while maintaining a high standard of patient care within a specialised critical care environment.
As an ICU Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive, compassionate, and evidence-based care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced and dynamic Intensive Care Unit.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in accordance with hospital policies and professional standards.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, interpreting vital signs and clinical data accurately.
- Administer medications, infusions, and treatments as prescribed.
- Manage ventilated patients, haemodynamic monitoring, and specialised equipment within ICU.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain precise and updated patient documentation.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, ensuring patient safety at all times.
- Uphold infection prevention and control standards.
- Adhere to professional and ethical nursing practice at all times.
Minimum Requirements
- Registered Nurse (General) with additional ICU qualification (SANC registered).
- Current South African Nursing Council (SANC) receipt - mandatory.
- Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience in a private hospital setting (advantageous).
- Competency in managing ventilators, critical care monitoring, infusion pumps, and ICU protocols.
- Ability to work flexible shifts: days, nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Must be willing to undertake temporary shifts via Charisma Healthcare Solutions.
- Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
