Registered Nurse CSSD Supervisor

About the position

LetsLink recruitment is seeking a highly motivated and experienced CSSD Supervisor to work at a private hospital in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the CSSD and Theatre Housekeeping staff, ensuring that all operational requirements within these departments are met.

Key Work Output and Accountabilities:

• Checking off-duties for CCCD staff and processing/approving timecards
• Arranging and conducting in-service training and training programs
• Adhering to and implementing CSSD policies and SOP's
• Ensuring and maintaining a high and effective working standard in CSSD
• Ensuring staff adhere to and make use of protective clothing provided
• Ensuring correct storage and use of cleaning materials
• Handling of CAPEX and ordering of equipment
• Ordering of internal and external stock from Pharmacy
• Capturing My Market orders

Skills Profile:

• Registered as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council or equivalent NQF level 7 qualification
• Diploma in Operating Theatre Techniques essential
• A CSSD qualification would be advantageous
• 2-3 years relevant experience within the Nursing discipline/CSSD/Theatre
• Previous experience in a supervisory role will be an advantage
• Thorough knowledge of specialized nursing theory and practice
• Extensive knowledge of modern nursing care principles and practices in the highly specialised field of operating theatre
• Strong quality patient care orientation with the capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health legislation
• Able to maintain healthy interpersonal relationships, be able to work in a team
• Respectful, friendly, and helpful at all times to colleagues or co-workers
• Knowledgeable in SAP and Kronos systems
