About the position

JOB TITLE: REGIONAL MANAGER - Twelve (12) Months Fixed-Term Contract

REGIONS:

  • Free State
  • Gauteng North
  • Gauteng South
  • Western Cape

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Reporting to the Head: Regions, the successful candidate will represent sefa in the region by providing access to products and services offered by sefa channels, namely Direct Lending. This role will also contribute to the development and coordination of the sefa strategies and objectives within the region.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
The Regional Manager will primarily be responsible for the following Key Performance Areas:

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Develop and implement regional business development plans that will create a solid pipeline for the region.
  • Pro-actively drive any new business development within the region and become the first point of contact in the region.
  • Engage in regional marketing interventions aimed at attracting regional/local stakeholders to further grow business opportunities for sefa and enhance the regional impact.

STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT

  • Engage with key stakeholders both in the private and public sectors to promote the increased utilisation of all sefa products and services.
  • Promote and maintain a positive image of sefa in the region through strategic partnerships.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT

  • Lead the regional team in providing technical guidance on all transactions executed in the region.
  • Oversee all funding reports for the region and lead the investment recommendation to the relevant approval committees.
  • Provide due diligence guidance and leadership on all aspects of the due diligence process (Financial, Marketing and Technical).

REPORTING

  • Prepare quality monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on the performance of the region.
  • Manage and report on all client relations matters including complaints resolution.

PLANNING AND MANAGING FINANCIAL AND HUMAN RESOURCES

  • Sound planning and forecasting of all expenditure within area of responsibility.
  • Compile budget inputs in accordance with policies, procedures and legal requirements.
  • Manage costs against approved budget.
  • Ensure adequate human resource allocation to the workflow in the region and ensure that sound performance management is implemented.
  • Adhere and management of direct reports in line with people management principles and procedures.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of a B. Degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in SMME development finance, operating at a management level; accountable for business results.

  • Good analysis and interpretation of financial statements skills
  • Sound knowledge of governance issues
  • Good leadership skills
  • Strong Business Development skills
