PURPOSE
The Regional Lead for East-Southern Africa & Export Markets is responsible for driving commercial growth, operational excellence, and strategic alignment across East and South Africa and export markets. This role ensures the successful execution of marketing, sales, and technical programs, while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and fostering strong relationships with distributors, local operating companies (LOCs), and key stakeholders.

Leadership: Ability to inspire and lead diverse teams across multiple geographies.
Commercial Acumen: Deep understanding of animal health market dynamics and export operations.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.
Adaptability: Ability to manage complexity and navigate diverse cultural and regulatory environments.
Willingness and ability to travel regionally across East-Southern Africa and export markets, including undertaking long-haul flights and ground travel as required.
Capacity to work across multiple time zones, including occasional early-morning or late-evening meetings to support regional and global coordination
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement regional strategies aligned with global business objectives.
Identify growth opportunities in East-Southern Africa and export markets, including new product launches and portfolio optimization.
Monitor market trends and provide insights to inform global and regional decision making.
Commercial & Marketing
Drive regional marketing campaigns and adapt global programs to local market needs.
Support pricing strategies, forecasting, and demand planning for export markets.
Ensure effective product positioning and lifecycle management.
Distributor & Partner Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors and key accounts.
Negotiate commercial agreements and monitor performance against KPIs.
Provide training and support to partners to ensure compliance and brand integrity.
Operational Excellence
Oversee supply chain coordination, inventory management, and export documentation.
Ensure timely delivery of products to export markets while optimizing costs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Regulatory, Finance, Technical Services) to resolve operational challenges.
Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company standards across all markets.
Implement risk mitigation strategies for export operations.
Team Leadership
Lead and develop a high-performing regional team.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Degree in Veterinary Science, Animal Health, Business, or related field; or advanced degree preferred.
Minimum 8-10 years in animal health or pharmaceutical industry.
Proven track record in regional leadership and export market management.
Preference will be given to SA citizens and EE candidates
