About the position

Our client, a respected organisation known for delivering long-term service and investment excellence, is seeking a polished and professional Career Receptionist to become the face of their business.

This is not simply a front desk role. It is an opportunity for an experienced client service professional to create a seamless, refined, and memorable experience for every visitor and caller. The successful candidate will take pride in delivering exceptional service, maintaining an immaculate environment, and ensuring that every interaction reflects the company’s high standards.

The Role

As the first point of contact, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the client experience while ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the reception area.

Working hours: 07h00 – 16h00 or 08h30 – 17h30 (as required)

Key Responsibilities

  • Professionally welcome and assist clients and visitors

  • Operate the switchboard (PABX) and manage incoming calls efficiently

  • Coordinate with security, manage visitor parking, and escort guests where required

  • Maintain a polished, organised, and welcoming reception environment

  • Manage meeting room bookings and ensure rooms are presentation-ready

  • Handle mail, couriers, and deliveries with accuracy

  • Oversee stationery and first aid supplies

  • Provide general administrative support to the office

  • Resolve client and visitor queries promptly and professionally

Ideal Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in a client service-focused role

  • Experience operating a PABX system

  • Corporate or hospitality experience highly advantageous

  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional front-of-house service

Qualifications & Systems

  • Matric (essential)

  • Post-matric qualification advantageous

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Experience with email and booking systems

  • PABX system experience
