About the position

We are seeking a professional, well-presented, and highly organised Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and stakeholders, you will serve as the face of the company, ensuring a professional and welcoming experience. You will also provide administrative support to the Office Manager and general staff, playing a key role in the smooth running of the office.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Front of House

    • Confirm visitor appointments before granting access.
  • Welcome and direct clients, visitors, and guests in a professional manner.
    • Answer and manage incoming calls, emails, and queries.
    • Maintain a neat, professional, and welcoming reception area.
 

  • Diary & Scheduling Management

    • Manage diaries and coordinate appointments/meetings for senior staff.
    • Organise meeting rooms, refreshments, and logistics as required.
 

  • Administration & Office Support

    • Provide general administrative assistance to the Office Manager and wider team.
    • Assist with document preparation, filing, and correspondence.
    • Support staff with day-to-day operational and administrative needs.
    • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, deliveries, and couriers.
 

  • Business Support

    • Coordinate with suppliers and service providers as directed by the Office Manager.
    • Assist with office events, functions, and client meetings.
    • Uphold company standards and values when interacting with stakeholders.
 

Skills & Competencies

 

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and reliability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  • Well-presented and confident in dealing with senior executives and clients.
 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12 / Matric (minimum requirement).
  • Tertiary diploma or certificate in Administration/Office Management advantageous.
  • 2–6 years’ experience in a receptionist or administrative role, ideally within a corporate or professional services environment.
  • Previous exposure to the mining, investment, or related industries will be an advantage.
