About the position

An established co-educational private junior school is seeking a professional, approachable, and organised Frontline Receptionist. This role is central to creating a welcoming and efficient environment for students, parents, staff, and visitors.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric (Grade 12) is essential
  • A relevant certificate or diploma in reception, office management, administration, or secretarial studies is preferred
  • Computer literacy is essential - proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards and emergency protocols
  • Experience working in a school environment is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and assist all visitors, parents, students, and staff
  • Answer, screen, and direct incoming calls; manage reception inbox and correspondence
  • Enforce access control and maintain accurate visitor records
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support, including data capturing, filing, and document preparation
  • Manage mail and deliveries
  • Assist in drafting and distributing newsletters, notices, and school communication
  • Maintain confidentiality and a high standard of professionalism at all times
