About the position

Purpose of the role:
Our Client seeks a professional and proactive Receptionist / Administrator to join their Waterfall, Durban office. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for clients and visitors, while also providing essential administrative and accounting support to the team. The incumbent will be part of a fast-paced, detail-orientated office culture that values professionalism and reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage front desk operations, including welcoming visitors and handling incoming calls
  • Interact with clients across diverse industries (pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food & beverage, industrial)
  • Coordinate office communications and maintain a professional reception area
  • Handle sensitive documentation and compliance-related tasks, requiring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Provide administrative support such as filing, scheduling, and document management
  • Assist with basic accounting tasks using Sage or Pastel
  • Prepare and maintain spreadsheets and reports in Microsoft Excel
  • Support management with day-to-day office operations
  • Handle courier arrangements, office supplies, and general administrative duties

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in reception or administrative roles
  • Working knowledge of Sage or Pastel accounting software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general MS Office applications
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Professional demeanour and customer service orientation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
