Introduction
RFG Foods (Pty) Ltd, a leader in the food manufacturing industry, is seeking a talented and motivated Receiving & Warehouse Manager looking after the Offside Warehouse Storage and Receiving area (Onsite), who will be responsible for the efficient and compliant management of all incoming raw materials, packaging, and non-perishable goods used in the Plants. The role ensures accurate receiving, safe storage, stock rotation, inventory management, food safety compliance, Industrial Relations and timely movement of goods to production and effective leadership of Receiving and Warehouse Coordinators staff to support smooth production.
The position will be based in the Fresh Food Gauteng - Pies and Pastries Linbro Business Park.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and coach Warehouse and Receiving Coordinators.
- Manage stock flow, documentation, temperature (where applicable) and warehouse administration.
- Ensure teams meet daily operational objectives across receiving, warehouse storage, and dispatching of goods.
- Drive performance management, training, discipline, shift planning, and leave management.
- Build a high-performance culture emphasizing accuracy, accountability, and teamwork.
- Oversee the accurate and timely receiving of raw materials, packaging, and other dry goods.
- Ensure all incoming goods comply with purchase orders, quality standards, and food safety requirements.
- Resolve receiving discrepancies through coordination with Procurement, Quality, and Suppliers.
- Maintain compliance documentation and traceability.
- Control project costs by approving expenditures and managing contractor contracts.
- Manage the dry goods warehouse layout, organization, and storage standards.
- Ensure proper handling, segregation of allergens, FIFO/FEFO rotation, and pest-control compliance.
- Maintain 5S and GMP standards throughout all warehouse and receiving areas.
- Ensure warehouse and receiving coordinator supports accurate documentation and stock movement control.
- Maintain accurate stock levels in ERP/SYSPRO systems.
- Lead daily cycle counts, weekly verifications, and monthly stocktakes.
- Investigate and resolve stock variances or stock integrity issues.
- Support forecasting and production planning by providing reliable stock data.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, FSSC 22000 or applicable standards.
- Enforce allergen control, traceability, hygiene, pest control, and contamination prevention.
- Support internal and external audits with accurate, up-to-date warehouse and dispatch records.
- Develop and maintain SOPs for receiving. storage, dispatch, stock control, and forklift operations.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as: Process Optimization, Layout redesign, Material flow improvements, waste and breakage reduction and 5S and lean warehouse practices.
- Ensure compliance with OHS legislation and company safety procedures.
- Conduct receiving, warehouse and dispatch areas inspections and risk assessments.
- Ensure forklift and equipment compliance, operator licensing, and safe operation practices.
- Lead incident investigations and drive corrective action.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or related field.
- 5 + years' experience in warehouse/ receiving and dispatch operations, preferably in food manufacturing.
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards.
- Strong leadership experience managing supervisors and coordinators.
- Experience with WMS/SYSPRO systems.
- Valid forklift licence (advantageous).
