About the position
Introduction
Responsible for coordinating the Supplier Quality Assurance Program which involves the monitoring, reviewing and updating of raw material and packaging supplier quality assurance documentation, supplier audits and monitoring of supplier compliance. The role also involves reviewing of artwork for compliance against relevant regulations. This role will report to the Divisional Technical Manager - Long Life Foods.
Duties & Responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
PRODUCT INTEGRITY AND SAFETY
- Creating and maintaining raw material and packaging specifications in conjunction with operating sites.
- Monitoring, reviewing and updating supplier quality assurance documentation.
- Performing supplier and GMP audits.
- Working with the sites on supplier approval and to monitor and trend supplier quality assurance performance.
CUSTOMER EXPECTATION
- Coordinating and completing of customer compliance documents.
- Collaboratively working with central departments and internal stakeholders such as Supply Chain, NPD and Marketing, in the coordination of value engineering projects related to raw materials and packaging.
INTERNAL BUSINESS PROCESSES
- Coordinating shelf-life studies for raw material and packaging alternatives
- Performing lab/kitchen trials as required for raw material alternatives
- Inspection and reporting on travel tests for packaging changes
- Facilitating and reporting on product assessment sessions
- Producing internal reports as required by the Divisional Technical Manager.
COMPLIANCE
- Administering the label compliance process in conjunction with external stakeholders, NPD and marketing.
- Administering GMO certification processes for the Division, in line with the market requirements.
- Administering any other compliance related requirements that may arise in RFG markets.
- Researching on and highlighting legislative changes related to raw materials and packaging.
- Compiling and managing work procedures, questionnaires, forms and audit checklist to ensure that they are in line with applicable legislative regulations and standards.
OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS
- Facilitating purchasing processes as required for the Central Technical Department.
- Sourcing quotations for training, testing and required consumables for the department.
- Document monthly technical meeting minutes
Desired Experience & Qualification
Our ideal candidate must have:
- Degree in Food Science / Technology or any other related field.
- Experience in food safety and quality management, supplier quality assurance, internal auditing in a FMCG environment
- Required to know the food and packaging regulations.
- At least 3 years' experience in the role or similar role
