Job description
My client is a well-established private Radiology practice. They are urgently looking for an experienced Radiographer at their branch in Boksburg.

Responsibilities:
The Radiographer must provide appropriate patient care, complete radiographic examinations and following prescribed procedures, using radiation wisely, and evaluate radiographic quality.

Radiology duties:

• Assessing patients and their clinical requirements to determine appropriate radiographic techniques.
• Performing a range of radiographic examinations on patients to produce high-quality images.
• Observing and maintaining contact with patients during their waiting, examination and post-examination stay in the department.
• Taking responsibility for radiation safety in the working area
• Assist in more complex radiological examinations working with radiologists and surgeons
• Providing support and reassurance to patients - taking into account their physical and psychological needs
• Paying close attention to detail such as annotating images correctly
• Understanding and observing health and safety at work and welfare issues, including ionising radiation regulations to protect yourself and others.

Other Duties:

• Keep the department and equipment neat and tidy
• Assist in moving patients
• Assist the students
• Check on patients sitting in the passage
• Workload must be dealt with in an acceptable timeframe
• Attend to all examinations requested
• Follow radiation protection recommendations
• Participate in Quality assurance and Quality control processes in the department

Working Hours /Shifts:

• 7 to 15h00
• 8 - 16h00
• 8:30-16:30
• 9- 17h00
• 11- 19h00
• Special shift 14h00 to 19h00 with a day off.
• One week-end per month (10 hour shift), afternoon off during the week after work week-end.
• 25 Days Leave per Annum

Minimum Requirements:

• Qualifications: Matric senior certificate + National Diploma or Degree in Diagnostic radiography
• Additional qualifications: mammography (where applicable)
• 5 Years experience (Including private practice)
• The ability to apply technical skills
• Self-motivation and the ability to work under pressure
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Organisational and decision-making skills
• Adaptability and good time management skills
• Attention to detail and team player
• Fluent communication skills in English and Afrikaans
