About the position

Postion Summary:
This position will be responsible for the following activities on-site in the Karoo. Executing day-to-day site installation and maintenance (scheduled and corrective) of RF equipment, including RFI Chambers, RF monitoring systems, assist with RF compliance and measurement activities, report writing and updating of databases, as well as issuing of permits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain Radio Frequency Equipment and facilities on site
  • Test, troubleshoot, report and document all site related Radio Frequency equipment and services
  • Monitor and characterise site detected Radio Frequency Interferences
  • Perform and execute site Radio Frequency measurements
  • Operate Reverberation Chamber on site, as directed by relevant procedures, specifications and standardsReview RF equipment/services installations on site to ensure that the installation is accurately done according to specifications and requirements
  • Executing RF radiated tests, screening tests, vehicle tests and equipment testing as and when needed

Minimum Qualification:
  • Diploma / Advanced Certificate / NQF 6

Minimum Experience:
  • 3-3 years
  • National Diploma: Engineering (electrical/electronic) with 3-years experience, orTrade-test certificate as an Electronic equipment mechanician with 5-years experience
  • Certification in RF and EMC (Advantageous)
  • Valid Driver’s license Code EB

Experience:
  • 3-years working experience within a radio frequency / radar or EMC environment
  • Experience in using spectrum- and network analysers, RF test / measurement equipment and antenna systems

Knowledge:
  • Radio Frequency understanding and hands on exposure
  • Monitoring and control of radio frequency and electronic systems
  • Execution of lab and in-situ RF / EMC testing and evaluation of results
  • Electrical systems installation (Advantageous)
  • Perform tasks using plans and diagrams
  • Understand and analyse RF measurement data from various commercial and well as in-house developed monitoring systems
  • Basic knowledge of automated scripting in Python
