Radio Engineer

About the position

Job Summary:
The Radio Engineer will be responsible for the planning, design, installation, operation, and maintenance of radio systems and equipment. The role includes troubleshooting technical issues, ensuring optimal quality, and ensuring that radio communication systems comply with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

System Design s Installation:

• Design and install radio transmission equipment, including transmitters, receivers, and antennas.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of radio station infrastructure, including network systems and broadcast studios.

Maintenance s Troubleshooting:

• Perform routine maintenance and repair of radio equipment and systems.
• Troubleshoot technical problems with radio transmission and reception, including signal interference, equipment failure, and software/hardware issues.
• Calibrate equipment to ensure maximum performance and signal strength.

Broadcast Quality Control:

• Monitor the signal to ensure quality.
• Adjust equipment to ensure proper signal transmission and reception.

Compliance s Safety:

• Ensure all radio systems meet regulatory requirements and licensing standards.
• Adhere to safety protocols when working with high-power transmitters and electrical equipment.

Technical Support s Training:

• Provide technical support for personnel and other departments within the organization.
• Offer training on proper equipment use and maintenance for staff.

Documentation s Reporting:

• Keep records of system maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
• Document technical specifications and equipment configuration.

Skills s Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field. (Some positions may require certification or training in radio transmission technology.)

Experience: Proven experience with radio equipment, transmission systems, and troubleshooting technical issues.
Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of analog and digital radio systems.
• Proficiency with RF (Radio Frequency) testing and measurement tools.
• Familiarity with audio processing and automation software.
• Understanding of regulatory standards in radio transmission.

Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical issues and solutions to non-technical staff.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues quickly.
