About the position
A well-known and established dry blending Manufacturing company requires the above to be responsible for overseeing Product Development, Food Safety and Quality management to ensure that spice blends are of high-quality and spec for the food manufacturing industries.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- A Bachelor’s degree or a Diploma in Food Science or Food Technology, Nutrition, or related fields is preferred.
- Previous experience having worked within the food / spice or related markets being involved with Product Development, Food Safety and quality within a food manufacturing environment is essential.
- Experience in overseeing and working closely with the Production team as well as Quality Assurance, and Food Safety is pref.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, HACCP, GMP, ISO, and other relevant standards.
- Previous exposure with formulation development and customer technical support is highly desirable.
- The successful candidate must have a strong technical knowledge of food ingredients, formulations, and processing methods.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication skills liaising with production teams, management, and customers is essential.
- Good project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities is essential.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Overseeing Product Development, Food Safety & Quality management to ensure that spice blends are of high-quality and spec for the food manufacturing industries.
- Managing new product development portfolios and formulating new products and reformulating existing recipes in line with customer requests.
- Collaborating with R&D, production, and marketing teams to ensure successful product launches.
- Conducting trials and pilot runs to validate formulations and process parameters.
- Conducting and assisting with sensory evaluations as well as compiling product specifications for new product development (NPD).
- Calculating nutritional values for newly developed products and communicating with clients on project progress.
- Overseeing quality with regards to implementing and improving on Food Safety Management Systems (FSSC 22000 V6).
- Conducting internal and external audits and monitoring supplier performance.
- Handling all requests for certification of products with Halaal and Kosher authorities.
- Conducting daily quality control in-process checks in both the spice blending and sauce plants.
- Managing and overseeing all quality control processes in manufacturing and ensuring hygiene and GMP practices are upheld in the facility.
