About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Cape Town's Foreshore district. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional who thrives on ensuring construction projects are delivered on budget, on time, and to the highest standards. You will play a key role in cost management, procurement, and contract administration while working closely with architects, contractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for construction projects.
- Monitor and control costs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist with tender documentation, evaluate bids, and negotiate with contractors and suppliers.
- Maintain detailed cost records, track expenditures, and highlight potential financial risks.
- Draft, review, and manage contracts; handle interim payments and final accounts.
- Assess and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with contractual and legal obligations.
- Support quality assurance by maintaining high standards across cost and contract processes.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in a similar role, preferably in commercial construction.
- Certifications: RICS, SACQSP, or equivalent professional membership (preferred).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in cost estimating and project management software (e.g., CostX, Procore, MS Project).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction processes, standards, and local market practices.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Valid driver's license (advantageous)
