Position: Quantity Surveyor – EPC Industry

Location: Durban, South Africa
Sector: Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC)

Our client is a leading international EPC company dedicated to creating a more sustainable future. With operations spanning across the Middle East, Africa, the CIS region, and Europe, they deliver complex, multidisciplinary engineering solutions to clients worldwide.

They are currently seeking to engage a highly skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor for a project based in Durban. This role is ideally suited for a professional with a strong EPC background and proven track record in managing project costs, contracts, and risk in large-scale infrastructure and energy projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and forecasts.
  • Conduct cost control and value engineering throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Evaluate contractor and subcontractor claims and variations.
  • Support tendering and procurement processes.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to ensure financial efficiency.
  • Prepare regular project reports on cost status and risk mitigation.
Requirements:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role, preferably within the EPC industry.
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC and other standard forms of contract.
  • Experience working on marine, infrastructure, energy, or pipe-laying projects is highly advantageous.
  • Proficient in cost management software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
