About the position
We are recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor who will be responsible for managing and tracking the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects. Measuring works, handling contract documentation, preparing claims and valuations, managing subcontractor payments, and ensuring accurate cost reporting. This role plays a key part in site and commercial team collaboration and QS Mentorship
Candidates must have experience in plumbing related construction projects:
Minimum requirements:
Education:
Grade 12
National Diploma or BTech in Quantity Surveying (Minimum)
Bsc in Quantity Surveying (Preferred)
Experience:
Minimum 5 years in a Quantity Surveying role within a construction environment
Proven experience with plumbing installations or services packages is essential
Software proficiency:
CCS (Candy)
BuildSmart
Main Duties:
Project initiation
Understand contract agreements and tender documentation
Set up and integrate Candy and BuildSmart systems
Contract planning:
Assist with procurement and construction planning
Rework tender files and coordinate with site teams
Programming:
Prepare project cash flows
Support site teams with quantity take-offs and scheduling
Contract Execution:
Prepare valuations, variation orders, cost reports and manage contract documentation
Measure on-site work and track final quanitities, especially plumbing services
Administer subcontractor contracts and payments, including plumbing subcontractors
Submit monthly claims and ensure timeous VO processing
Ensure documentation compliance and accurate reporting on Candy and BuildSmart systems
