About the position
Hire Resolve's client, a leading property development and consulting firm specializing in integrated architectural, quantity surveying, and project management services, is currently seeking a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team in Cape Town’s offices. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a driven individual to work in a multi-disciplinary environment, gaining exposure to diverse projects while collaborating with top-tier professionals in the industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist with cost planning, cost management, and project budgeting across various stages of development.
- Conduct measurements and compile Bills of Quantities (BoQs) for tender and construction purposes.
- Evaluate and process progress claims, variations, and final accounts.
- Coordinate with architects, project managers, and external contractors to ensure accurate cost control and reporting.
- Support the preparation of feasibility studies and cost estimates for new developments.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
Requirements- A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics.
- 1–3 years of experience in a quantity surveying role, preferably within a property development or consulting environment.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., WinQS, CCS Candy, or similar QS packages).
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Familiarity with JBCC and other construction contracts will be advantageous.
