Quantity Surveyor (Commercial)

About the position

Hire Resolve's client, a well-established construction and project management company specializing in large-scale commercial developments across international markets, is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor (Commercial) to join their team on a fixed-term contract basis.

This opportunity is ideal for a commercially focused professional who is ready to start immediately and work on a remote project site in Malaysia on an 8-week rotation cycle (6 weeks onsite and 2 weeks off). The successful candidate will play a key role in the commercial management and cost control of high-value construction projects, with hotel project experience being highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage all commercial and quantity surveying functions on-site
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation
• Monitor project costs and ensure effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle
• Evaluate subcontractor claims and payments
• Conduct contract administration and manage variations
• Prepare and present financial reports to management
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures
• Liaise with project teams, consultants, contractors, and stakeholders
• Support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects within budget and timeline requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or related field
• Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ commercial quantity surveying experience
• Previous hotel project experience is highly advantageous and preferred
• Must be able to start immediately
• Willingness to work at a remote site in Malaysia on a rotational basis
• Valid passport is essential
• Clear criminal record
• Strong knowledge of commercial contracts and cost management
  
• Proficiency in relevant quantity surveying and project management software
• Graduates from the University of Bloemfontein or the University of Pretoria are encouraged to apply
