About the position

A well-established civil engineering firm based in Stellenbosch is seeking to appoint two Quantity Surveyors to join their dynamic team. These are excellent opportunities for professionals with 3 to 5 years of experience in either civil or building construction projects.

Minimum Requirements:

  • National Diploma or BSc/BTech in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
  • 3 to 5 years' proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the civil engineering and building construction
  • Solid understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JBCC, NEC, FIDIC).
  • Strong knowledge of cost control, tendering, BOQs, progress claims, and final accounts.
  • Proficient in relevant QS software and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent numerical, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to Stellenbosch and work on-site.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and manage project cost estimates and budgets.
  • Compile tender documentation and evaluate subcontractor pricing.
  • Conduct regular site visits for valuations and cost tracking.
  • Manage project cash flow and payment certificates.
  • Monitor material and labour costs and manage variations.
  • Prepare and submit final accounts upon project completion.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and site teams.
