About the position
Brief Role Description
The purpose of the role is accountable for Quality features & standards within a specific group (Dimensional evaluation of components for Series measurements, 1st off samples, Final Approval, BMG testing, Audit Fault Investigations, Field Complaints, Supplier development, Calibration of gauges, Calibration of Measuring instruments, Calibration of Torque testing instrument, etc.).
Qualification and experience requirements
- National Diploma/ NN Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
- 5 years relevant working experience within the automotive environment.
- 3 years working experience with parts, assemblies' alignment, set-up and Dimensional Evaluation.
- Trade Test Certificate Tool Maker
Essentials
- Good knowledge & understanding of Metrology Symbols & Elements (VIM)
- Practical working experience of Dimensional Measuring Equipment & Instruments
- 3D interpretation of CAD models and technical drawings
- Good understanding of communication between Measuring facilities and Software
- CMM or CNC programming
