Quality Assurance Technician to be based in Boksburg (Contract Position)
Our client operates within a specialised engineering and manufacturing environment and is seeking an experiencedQuality Assurance Technician to join their team on a contract basis until the end of December 2026.
This hands-on role is responsible for ensuring that products and components meet customer specifications and quality standards through inspection, testing, documentation control, and the effective management of non-conformances.
The successful candidate will maintain product traceability, conduct tensile testing and first-off inspections, ensure the accurate recording of scrap and rework, and contribute to the consistent delivery of high-quality products.
THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE ARE:
NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Matric (Grade 12) AND a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Chemical Engineering WITH a minimum of 2 years' experience in a quality assurance or quality control role within a heavy-duty manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience preparing for and participating in ISO and customer audits AND managing and closing out Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
- Strong proficiency in English (written and verbal) with the ability to compile reports and participate in audits, meetings, and customer interactions, as well as experience in these areas.
- A valid driver's licence, a clear criminal record AND the willingness to go for drug and medical tests.
- Willing to work shifts and overtime as required.
MUST ALSO BE WILLING TO:
- Represent the Quality department at any audit, road show and/or meetings.

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
1. Profitability and Sustainability
- Reducing excess stock within the quarantine area.
- Logging and monitoring scrap accurately and timeously.
2. Global Manufacturing Competitiveness
- Ensuring processes are optimised for the dispatch of high-quality products.
- Monitoring process quality and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
3. Exceeding Customer Expectations
- Supporting the implementation of new systems and processes.
- Ensuring ongoing readiness for ISO and customer audits.
- Monitoring and ensuring Corrective Action Requests (CARs) are addressed and closed out within required timeframes.
4. Representing the Quality Function
- Representing the Quality Department during audits, roadshows, meetings, and other stakeholder engagements.
- Conducting oneself in a professional manner that upholds company values and promotes teamwork and collaboration.
5. Compliance
- Carrying out all work in accordance with SHEQE standards, regulations, company policies, and procedures.
- Maintaining compliance with all quality, health, safety, and environmental requirements.
6. Accountability
- Ensuring only quality-approved products leave the premises.
- Conducting all activities safely and responsibly.
7. Inspections
- Performing mechanical inspections using standard and specialised measuring equipment.
- Recording and reporting inspection results accurately.
8. Testing
- Conducting tests using automated equipment, including MTS tensile testing machines and CMM measuring systems.
- Recording, analysing, and reporting test results in accordance with quality requirements.
