The Opportunity

A leading food manufacturer based in Kempton Park, Gauteng, is looking for a Quality Manager to join their team. As the largest honey producer of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, this established business has been a trusted leader in the industry since the 1960s. In this role, you will lead daily quality assurance and food safety operations. Your main goal is to protect the brand and maintain strict food safety certifications. You will help the production team meet compliance targets, prevent product waste, and make sure every batch of product is perfectly pure.
What You'll Be Doing

• Manage daily food safety and factory hygiene.
• Enforce strict FSSC 22000 and HACCP compliance standards.
• Conduct internal quality audits on production lines and test raw samples for purity and moisture.
• Train factory staff on critical quality control and updated hygiene procedures.
• Investigate and quickly resolve any customer complaints about product quality.
• Maintain clear and accurate testing records and quality assurance paperwork.
• Check and approve incoming raw materials and packaging deliveries.
• Keep laboratory testing equipment calibrated and working correctly.

 
What You Need to Apply

• A BSc Degree in Food Science / Food Technology OR a National Diploma in Microbiology or equivalent.
• 3 years of experience working in food manufacturing facilities.
• Good knowledge of food safety audits, extraction processing, and bottling.
• Strong communication skills to train staff and lead quality teams successfully.
• Experience with product traceability and batch records.
