Minimum Requirement
- Quality, production management or other relevant qualification.
- 3 - 5 years of automotive (ideally tier 1 supplier) experience.
- 4 - 5 years experience in a similar role in the automotive and manufacturing environment.
- Relevant ISO training certification, Internal Auditor minimum.
- Quality auditing implementation and management is ESSENTIAL.
- Understanding of Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles.
Responsibilities
Quality
- Managing all aspects of Quality Control.
- Including the vehicle personalisation production line, the vehicle modifications centre, and the Roller Shutter Sub Assembly operation.
- Ensuring that standards, processes and procedures, legal requirements, and product quality standards are required to support the customer needs and ensure customer satisfaction.
- This position is also responsible for maintaining and developing the quality management system, ensuring that the business continues to achieve and maintain the various ISO, IATF, and brand-specific quality standards required to retain the contracts we have with OEMs.
- Support production activities ensuring work is delivered at a high-quality standard.
- Actively involved in all process changes including new launch and level changes, processes, and product changes with formulation work instructions of final line check sheets.
- Direct involvement in continuous improvement activity in production, actively contributing to the improvement of the ‘First Time Through’ (FTT) Scores.
- Ensure all quality-related concerns raised by customers are attended to and resolved timeously.
- Overall responsibility to ensure that all relevant documents and records are appropriately completed, monitored, presented, and stored.
- Overall responsibility to ensure that all quality checks, internal and external audits, processes, and inspections are conducted and completed as required.
- Overall responsibility for the NCR process and documentation, ensuring corrective action and successful concern resolution – including start-to-finish paper trail.
- Compile monthly management QC report and VMC KPI scorecard and report.
- Responsible for managing and supporting the QC Department staff.
- Ad hoc duties are required by an authorized person.
QMS Management and Compliance
- Overall responsibility for the implementation, updating and management of the Quality Management System (QMS) including ISO [Phone Number Removed]; and 14001 and IATF 16949.
- Achieve and Maintain the Ford Q1 Standard as required for Tier 1 supply.
- Planning and creation of a detailed Audit Schedule, at the start of every year, submitted to the Management Team for approval before 31 January every year.
- Ensuring the timeous execution of these internal, external, and supplier audits as per the approved annual audit schedule.
- Overall responsibility to champion the timeous closing of all findings from these audits and deadlines to be agreed upon based on audit type and severity of finding.
- Verification of all controlled document files and test records is done in a timely and accurate manner.
- Verification and approval of inspection procedures and quality check sheets.
- Organize and be responsible for the management review meetings and ISO committee meetings, including taking minutes, filing, and distribution.
- Editing and formatting assets documents as per document control guidelines and approved templates.
- Calculation of Cost of Quality per location.
