About the Role
To maintain and continuously improve quality and product standards across the supply chain, ensuring products meet required specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This role plays a critical part in driving quality compliance, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and reducing defects, rework, and warranty claims.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate quality systems, standards, inspections, and controls to ensure products and services meet required quality standards
- Ensure all equipment, tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges are calibrated and verified in line with calibration procedures and standards
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to perform dimensional checks and communicate corrective actions to relevant departments
- Develop and maintain systems that promote quality awareness and continuous improvement across operations
- Take full ownership of non-conformance reports (NCRs) from initiation through investigation, corrective action, and closure
- Compile, manage, and report on weekly reject data, ensuring accuracy and follow-up on corrective actions
- Analyse quality data and trends, identifying recurring issues and recommending improvement actions
- Conduct quality meetings with production staff, supervisors, and management
- Lead or support investigations into product failures and customer complaints
- Perform root cause failure analysis (RCFA) for quality-related issues across raw materials, components, processes, and finished goods
- Support production teams with non-conformance handling, rework processes, sorting, and segregation of non-conforming materials
- Apply statistical sampling techniques for inspection of incoming, in-process, and finished goods
- Conduct process and supplier audits where required and track corrective actions
- Support ISO compliance and quality assurance activities
- Assist with staff training and competency assessments related to quality standards and procedures
- Promote and support health and safety practices within production environments
- Maintain a clean, organised work area in line with 5S principles
- Perform additional quality-related duties as required

Functional & Technical Skills
- Experience in Quality Control procedures, practices, and principles within a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings for dimensional inspection
- Competent in the use of measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometres, and gauges
- Strong numeracy skills
- Proficient in MS Office, with Excel experience essential
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance within a production/manufacturing environment, with a strong focus on incoming goods
- Mechanical Engineering Diploma and/or a Trade Test in the Mechanical Engineering field
- Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems, including auditing and maintenance
- Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment (advantageous)
- Professional accreditation or certification in Quality Management (advantageous)
- SAP experience (advantageous)
