Quality Control Manager

About the position

Introduction

Our client, a leading plastic injection moulding company, wants to appoint a Quality Control Manager who will be responsible for ensuring that the QC system functions optimally and that sufficient quality procedures and checks are in place to ensure agreed production outcome and quality standards of manufactured products.
Duties & Responsibilities

• Managing the QC teams (identifying defects and any possible quality issues)
• Check quality issues from the afternoon and night shifts
• Deal with quality issues, i.e. scrapping, isolating, stopping machines if needed
• Scheduling of the shifts, including transport arrangements and any amendments as needed.
• Manage daily Quality meetings by making sure that the non-conformance sheet is filled in with the corrective actions
• Weekly QC training: prepare audit sheets/samples etc. to conduct training

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Applicable quality degree
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Quality Control Manager in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent reporting skills (report writing and presentation)
• Computer literate (MS Office)
• Must be able to implement QC systems and monitor QC levels
• Accurate, practical, systematic and good multi-tasking abilities
• Good communication (English and Afrikaans) and interpersonal skills.
• Be willing and able to work shifts.
