About the position

DUR00006 – Quality Control & Nursery Manager – Eastern Cape
 
Purpose of the Job:
To manage & oversee nursery operations and quality control processes for the client's farm.
 
Required Qualifications

  • A Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in nursery management or quality control in a similar role.
  • Experience with Spekboom propagation and planting is highly advantageous.

Technical Competencies & Experience:

  • Encourage a culture of cooperation and environmental responsibility.
  • Keep thorough records of all nursery operations and production results.
  • Plan and oversee the propagation, planting, and maintenance of Spekboom and other indigenous species.
  • Manage the nursery team, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to production targets.
  • Report progress, difficulties, and suggestions for improvement on a regular basis to management.
  • Develop and implement quality control measures for all planting and nursery activities
  • Maintain optimal growing conditions, including irrigation, pest control, and soil management.
  • Train and mentor nursery staff on propagation techniques and quality standards.

  • Proficiency in record-keeping and reporting.
  • Adaptability to work in a remote, farm-based environment.
