Our client, a leading textile manufacturing company, is seeking a detail-oriented and quality-focused Quality Assurance (QA) professional to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining quality standards throughout the textile production process, ensuring that products meet customer specifications, company standards, and required quality requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the textile manufacturing and production process.
- Inspect raw materials, fabrics, finished products, and work-in-progress to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Monitor production processes and identify quality defects, deviations, and non-conformances.
- Ensure products are manufactured according to customer specifications and approved quality standards.
- Perform in-process and final quality inspections.
- Identify, record, and report quality issues and production defects.
- Investigate the root causes of quality problems and assist with implementing corrective and preventative actions.
- Liaise with production teams to address quality issues and prevent recurring defects.
- Maintain accurate quality inspection records, reports, and documentation.
- Monitor product specifications, measurements, colour, fabric quality, stitching, finishing, and overall workmanship where applicable.
- Assist with maintaining quality control procedures and inspection standards.
- Ensure quality procedures are consistently followed on the production floor.
- Conduct regular quality checks and audits within the manufacturing environment.
- Communicate quality concerns and production deviations to relevant supervisors and management.
- Assist with customer complaints and quality-related investigations where required.
- Monitor rework, rejects, wastage, and quality-related production losses.
- Assist with analysing quality trends and identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure quality documentation and records are maintained accurately and up to date.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving product quality and reducing defects.
- Ensure compliance with company quality policies, procedures, and manufacturing standards.
- Perform general quality assurance and quality control duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12).
- A qualification in Quality Management, Textile Technology, Production Management, or a related field will be advantageous.
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a Quality Assurance / Quality Control role within a textile or manufacturing environment.
- Textile manufacturing experience is essential/preferred.
- Good knowledge of textile production processes and quality requirements.
- Experience inspecting fabric, garments, finished products, or textile-related products will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of quality inspection procedures and defect identification.
- Experience with non-conformance reporting and corrective action processes.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and reporting skills.
- Experience working with production, quality, and manufacturing systems will be advantageous.
- Ability to work on the production floor and interact effectively with production teams.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
