Our client in the automotive component manufacturing sector is seeking to employ a vastly experienced Quality Assurance Manager to their team, based in Port Elizabeth.
10 years plus experience gained as a QA Manager position or as a QA Engineer in a manufacturing environment secures.

Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in the engineering & quality fields.
- A background in Quality Engineering and associated responsibilities is essential.
- At least 10 years in the automotive engineering / manufacturing environment.
- Well versed with GD&T principles that goes with most component drawings.
- VDA6.3 internal auditor certification.
- Press shop and welding experience is mandatory.
- Proven analytical skills is essential.

- School Gr 12 Maths & Science.
- Tertiary qualifications listed: Internal Auditing Encona, City & Guilds NMU, FMEA and Control Plans, 8D Problem Solving, MSA and PPAP, SPC
- Working knowledge of QMS system standard IATF 16949 & ISO 9001.
- Key role player during Certification Body audits (IATF 16949, ISO 9001)
- Overall responsibility to maintain IATF 16949 requirements
- System/process auditor qualification
- Encona VDA6 auditor
- Conducting manufacturing process and system audits.
- At least 10 years’ relevant QA experience in the automotive industry.
- Conversant with the PPAP and APQP processes, including creating related documentation (FMEA, Control Plan, flow charts etc.)
- Experience with automotive ePPAP and loading customer portals. (e.g. Tenneco, Faurecia, Eberspaecher)
- Proven ability of handling full PPAP cycle.
- Direct involvement with manufacturing process investigations (8D reports)
- Working knowledge of welding processes - projection, robot CO2.
- Sound knowledge of statistical principles such as capability studies, SPC, MSA, etc.
- Understanding theory of Cp, Cpk and formulae, calculations and meaning
- Understand the calculation of Standard deviation and it's role in capability analysis.
- Proven analytical ability and well versed with 8D report analysis.
- Working knowledge of OEM customer specific requirements (GM/Ford/MB/Tenneco, VDA).
- Fluent with Excel charting and using it for analysis highly frequently.
- Compilation of compact process/works/gauge instructions.
- Conversant with Mechanical Drawings and geometrical tolerancing principles
- Interpretation of CMM reports. Co-ordinated Measuring Machine
- Product safety certification.
- Fluent in English written and verbal communication.
- Planning of own activities. (Time management)
- Aptitude to grasp and implement new software applications e.g. eMaintenance, eAudit.
- MSA Measurement System Analysis (R&R, Attribute).
