About the position
The successful candidate will ensure the effective implementation of the Quality Assurance and Food Safety Management System and the training of staff and management to be able to work within the System.
Tasks and Duties:
- Ensure that all products are produced safely, legally and of a high standard of quality in line with relevant legislation.
- Co-ordinate and monitor the implementation of the company's Health and Safety policy.
- Maintain, control and co-ordinate all functions within the Quality Control department, as well as help to develop and oversee the Quality Control and Cleaning teams.
Skills
- Ability to delegate, motivate and instruct a team of direct reports
- Strong communication skills - both verbal and written
- Strong team player, able to work with people at all levels
- Computer literate and strong administrative skills
- Problem solving and multi-tasking
Qualifications
- Degree / diploma in food science, quality control or equivalent (food-related discipline)
Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in management or supervisory role in a food manufacturing environment
