Main Purpose:
The Accountant will perform a variety of accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to ensure the effective control of the organization's financial resources. This role involves maintaining financial records, preparing reports, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and supporting senior management in making informed financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible for the following (but not limited to):
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Check, analyze, and prepare accurate financial reports and accounting statements, ensuring timely and informed decision-making.
- Coordinate the issuance of monthly financial reports such as Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flows, Account Consolidation, and Budget Reports.
- Prepare and review monthly and annual reports and perform account reconciliations.
- Tax & Compliance:
- Schedule and ensure timely tax payments, including VAT, Income Tax withholdings, and payments on account.
- Ensure compliance with all tax obligations and work closely with external auditors to meet deadlines.
- Audit Coordination:
- Coordinate, monitor, and execute independent audits, providing necessary information and preparing schedules for the annual audit.
- Accounts Management:
- Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting functions.
- Financial Statements & Reporting:
- Assist in the preparation of the Annual Financial Report, including financial statements and notes.
- Cross-Department Collaboration:
- Attend meetings and represent the finance department as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within an industrial business.
- Up to 2 years of supervisory experience.
- OCAM Certification.
- Oil industry experience preferred.
- Experience in budget preparation.
- Familiarity with SAP/Tally Systems, Office Suite, Advanced Excel, and Database Management.
Skills:
- Strong accounting knowledge and understanding of applicable local laws, codes, and regulations.
- Ability to compile, analyze, and prepare complex financial reports and statements.
- Proficiency in both Portuguese and English.

- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure projects effectively.
